I took the month of July to get many neglected things done around the house …. Tom D from Colorado starts off August with a instructional trip that was cut short due to some persistent coastal showers. A few missed off the bat and then his first snook on the Slayer Lures 4″ paddle tail in Tigerbait color.. I got Tom back out to finish up his instructional trip that was cut off due to weather and nailed a nice redfish.
We have hit good ole summer time. The waters warm and the breeze is too and the fish have been active.. The snook and redfishing has been great with a early am launch has produced some nice fish lately and also beating the heat and those summertime storms….

Some folks enjoying what the Nature Coast and Big Bend have to offer. Pete T ends May with some nice fish from The Lower Suwannee. Miss Erin with a nice snook and a few ladies.. Gregg Q with a great day in the back country. Now into mid- May. I had some folks wanting to throw topwater plugs so that’s what they did. Josh and Erika with some nice fish out of Yankeetown. along with Hayden and his mess of snook. So far April has been a little breezy to say the least. Dr. Larry back down and this time he brought his brother Dr. Dan for another 2 days of Big Bend kayak fishing. The spotted seatrout were lit up on the incoming flat and the redfish rolled in amongst. The Big Bend never disappoints with the weather scenery and fishing…. Now Jeff B got on one of those windy afternoons which produced some short snook on topwater. The April wind saga continued to the end…. Brent’s instructional day went well with some short redfish.. Seth’s day was a little eco tour and fishing with a small snook ,bald eagles and some manatees.. Shane was in awe over the beauty of the Yankeetown estuary and all to see . The day consisted of a few that swung and missed on topwater and a nice snook top… Almost forgot Marty with a beauty slot snook and a short redfish… Also a few from personal trips…
I have no idea how “In like a lamb Out like a lion” got stuck in my head but its always been spot on for the month of March.. Greg F with a beauty of snook for his first.. Then Miss Laurie with some spotted sea trout and a nice redfish.. The latest is David visiting Florida from AK with a nice first snook and some little dudes on a windy day… Gene A down from Maine wraps up the month of March with a nice 16 spot redfish on topwater a few short reds and some that swung and missed. Plus a 26″ snook..
With The Temps still below normal the Back Country bite has still been productive Tony with a nice top slot red and some shorts.. Then Woody and Gary took the ride from south FL to get in on the action…. The Thermometer has bottomed out and the wind has had us on our toes….. With the cooler weather the “Nature Coasts” back country has heated up… Greg G with a pair of redfish on one of our coldest mornings.. A trip with Bill R into the backcountry produced a day full some nice spotted sea trout….

Chris R and the Long Rod… I thought it was going to be a quiet Friday no such luck .. quite a few anglers out prefishing a local tournament.. Still managed some really nice fish on the 6wt……
Now Dr. Larry from the beautiful and historic low country of SC. Larry got it done with some nice Big Bend Spotted Sea Trout on day 1 and day 2 was filled with some nice mid slot Redfish…
The water temps have dropped and the backcountry has begun to fire up. J.J hooked up with his 1st of 2 snook in Ozello. Now Leslie and Eli wanted to fish inshore flats of the Big Bend… “The Big Bend Does Not Disappoint “
Pete T asked me a few months back about fishing Steinahatchee, told him I’ll set it up. We had a front coming in that morning and a 60% chance of a shower or thunderstorm. We paddle down the creek in the early hours and hit the flat on end of the outgoing looking for tailing reds and they were found… Quick video on the 1st school rolling in.. Pete nailed 4 till they moved on …
